Barka , fish market , Nakhal fortress & Wakan village

Departing in the morning from Muscat we will drive towards Barka where u will find an exciting traditional fish market and view the traditional barter war. Then heading to the famous Nakhal historical fort we then head over to Wakan village which lies at the foothills of mountains where in a traditional small village we have a glimpse of an extensive date palm plantations. These magnificent 350 year old fortress rises out of the mountain rock, towering high above the ancient village as if still warning would-be attackers of its ominous strength It has witnessed many battles and is packed full of hidden escape routes and secret passages. You can stroll around the inside of this restored fortress and visit all the rooms which have been decorated in the original old style. The view from the top of the fortress over the mountains and green date plantations is outstanding
