Nizwa, Jable Akhader & Berkat El-mouz
From Muscat, we travel to Nizwa, the former capital of Oman. We journey to the renowned Nizwa Fortress which is now a museum that explores the past of the fort and its surroundings. Amazing views of the historic town and the surrounding mountains are available as you stroll around the stronghold. The military used this amazing castle as a base to repel the most intense assaults and seizures. The sizable Nizwa Souq, a neighborhood market offering a range of commodities like jewelry, pottery, fish, and meats, located just next to the fort. The list is endless!
Then, after visiting the Irrigation System of Al Kattmyn, one of the five irrigation systems designated as World Heritage by UNESCO, we drive to the base of Jebel Akhdar, a historic settlement known as Birkat Al Mauz. We then ascend to Jebel Akhdar from there. Jebel Akhdar, sometimes called the Green Mountain, is home to several fruit orchards and rose gardens. Spend some time strolling among the hills and savoring the vistas of the valley. After exploring all that Jebel Akhdar has to offer, we return to Muscat by car.
